Nintendo has released a fresh batch of Super Mario-themed profile icons, now available for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online.
Subscribers can regularly download exclusive profile customisation items through the Nintendo Switch Online app, including character icons, themed backgrounds, and decorative frames inspired by Nintendo’s biggest franchises. These digital rewards rotate weekly, encouraging players to check back often and complete their collections.
This latest wave focuses on the Super Mario universe, offering over 80 redeemable items. Fans can grab icons featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and several designs inspired by the Mario Kart series. Items can be redeemed using Platinum Points earned through My Nintendo missions.
What Nintendo Is Doing Right Now
The icon rollout is part of Nintendo’s ongoing effort to add value to its Switch Online service. Over the past year, Nintendo has continued expanding its retro game libraries across NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64 collections for subscribers.
In addition, Nintendo is maintaining strong support for the Switch with first-party releases and updates to major titles. The company has also continued leveraging the popularity of the Mario brand following the global success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, while keeping flagship franchises like Mario Kart active with new content and community engagement.
As Nintendo looks ahead to its next hardware generation — widely expected to be revealed in the near future — it’s continuing to reward its existing player base with smaller digital perks like these themed icons, helping maintain engagement across its ecosystem.
For Mario fans, this latest batch of freebies is another reason to log in and personalise their profile before the items rotate out.
